Ceilings and Chimney

July 23, 2014

Home Construction

The carpenters have company at the house…the masons.  Yep, we’ll finally have something in the house besides wood and nails.  The masons are stacking block, bricks and hi-temp stones in the shape of our fireplace.  It’s kind of cool to see how it will vent from both the basement and the great room through the same chimney.

Ted and Jim were finishing the trickier parts of the roof (skylight between the loggia and 2-car garage) Mike and Brian were building the ceilings in Maddie’s room, the girls TV lounge and above the stairwell.  If all goes according to plan, Brad and the roofing crew will tomorrow start applying the tar paper.
