As Hannah and I were walking around the lot yesterday, we noticed the ground had been trenched and backfilled. Following the trail up to the house, it ended with a power meter! Thus, ComEd has fulfilled their end of the bargain (we paid them three weeks ago) and delivered a fresh underground cable, sizzling with electrons, to our home-in-progress.
Hannah also made the discovery atop our pile of topsoil of several sunflowers in bloom.
Finally, the roofers started work on Friday and made heady progress on the waterproof membranes and roofing paper.
Looking to the week ahead, Ted said that he’d likely get started on studding out the basement and we’d also expect to see the rise of our chimneys.
