Mud and Masonry Nearing Completion

October 11, 2014

Home Construction

It was a pretty productive week for the stonemasons and mudders.

The masons finished bricking in the exterior doorways and building the loggia chimney while the mudders applied their third coat of mud.  As it currently stands…the mud should be sanded this week and their work completed Wed/Thu.

The masons’ remaining exterior workload consists of the front porch archway – then they’ll likely come inside and put together the chimneys in the great room and the basement.  We’re still awaiting delivery of the limestone arch – we’re not sure what the hold-up is, except the mason are just on the project to drive Anne a little nutty.

Anne and I picked out countertops this week and we are starting the work on color schemes for the rooms and prioritizing which windows will be first with coverings.  We also made some progress on the hardscaping designs (walkway, patio etc.) and hope that Rick gets the lot graded in time for their install…not to mention the rough coat of the driveway!
