The flooring guys used the Christmas week time-warp to their advantage and sanded/stained/varnished the floors while the other trades were all at home snug in their beds. Besides, the main flooring guy, Jim forbade entry of anyone to the house.
The results were phenomenal! And despite all of the “DO NOT ENTER” signs, we snuck around the house to check out the floors. It was also so nice to see the ‘rooms’ cleared of the construction clutter – we got a sense finally of the volume of the place.
No sooner did the varnish dry than did appear Tom/Andrew to install the fireplaces and (of course) Mike and Chris…the carpenters extraordinaire to install baseboards and other trim put on hold pending the floor finishing. Vlad and his team of Polish Painters also arrived with tape and paper mask in hand…prepping the first floor for paint.
With the move-in so close, we’ve been packing up our Nathan Lane house and preparing for the move. We’re also having lunch with Rick to ensure a January move-in happens!
