Buongiorno, Villa Merlonero

Away from Home

With a little help from (enthusiastic product endorsement) Ambien, we slept soundly across the Atlantic… transferred with relative ease through Munich and hopped over the Alps en route to Firenze. Our hostess Ginerva greeted this jet-lagged duo with a warm, N95-masked Italian, “Buongiorno” and a plate of meat, cheese and bread, of course. We chatted while she showed us around her family’s ancestral home, La Villa Merlonero (blackbird) and that which we’ll call ‘ours’ for the next three months. It’s a happy landing. Ciao, for now. 🇮🇹🇮🇹

Not a vineyard… but we hear there a few nearby.

Do not mix this sleep-aid with 2-3 glasses of red wine on cross-Atlantic flights. Never. Ever.
