Away from Home

One thing about ancient buildings and structures that’s easy to forget – maybe because of the wonder and awe they conjure up – is that they usually were embellished with beautiful art. Long since lost to the ages or invading hordes were: statues, friezes, tapestries, frescoes, paintings, woodwork, metalwork and more that all combined to give the 15th century Fiorentini something very different to look at than we see here and now.

Case in point – look no further than the following photo. You’ll see the Uber-popular and oft-selfie’d panoramic city overlook; built upon the Ramparts of the city’s ancient brown brick barrier. I present to you the “Piazzale Michelangelo.” … once again beautifully embellished – now with this Blogger’s fave people. 😊😊

It gives me a real warm and fuzzy to be all together! ❤️❤️ And the Piazzale looks all the better for it!!

All together now!! (Anne is coddling our adopted BAMBINO. Such a needy child – he just hates to be put down.)
