Overhead Work

July 7, 2014

Home Construction

Ted and the guys have been working for the past week on the roof…which when completed will consist of seven different roof lines.  This is probably why they have been bouncing around from one area to the next.  First, they built the roof of the single garage, then the master bath and they now are working on the roof over the great room/catwalk.

We visited on Saturday with Ken and Rita…who both (yes, Rita) made the climb up the temporary staircase to the second floor.  And, as we can see from the vantage point of the black-dirt hill…the rear of the house is showing its character.

We also took the ladder to the basement, having had a week to dry out.  It’s funny, but with the joists/floor in place overhead, the basement suddenly seems bigger than it did when it was open to the sky.  Rick said that once the walls are in, it will “grow” again.  We’re just happy there will finally be someplace to store and drink the wine we’ve been “collecting”.

Knock wood for another week of good weather!
