Home Construction

Progress continues at a steady clip – the last three weeks have given us some very nice construction weather which, coupled with a batch of Anne’s cookies have the carpenters’ morale running very high.  They’ve been installing the roof decking – a feature that not only has the house looking from the outside even “more” like a house but adds stability to the frame, allowing the guys to remove some of the dozens of stabilizers previously criss-crossing the rooms like the laser-sensors in an art gallery.

With the stabilizers removed, we’re getting a great “feel” for the room space/size…and the girls were eager to try out some of the room functionality.

We also “discovered” a great bonus space above the reading room.  We’ll be talking with Rick about how to best put it to use…Maddie wants a supersize closet.  We’ll see how that pans out.
